I am thankful everyday that I am a teacher. In my career of 25 years, I have been fortunate to teach in a variety of school districts and elementary grade levels. Currently I am a Reading Recovery teacher in District 196. I am so thankful that I get to work with first grade students and teach them how to read and write. Each day is a little victory as they take one more step towards being strategic readers and writers. The students I work with come from a variety of backgrounds and races. The best thing about teaching is developing relationships with the students and their families. It is not always easy, but it is my favorite part of being an educator.
